This Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) is entered into on June 1, 2005, by and between the Palm Springs Unified School District and the Palm Springs Teachers Association.

RECITALS

Desert Hot Springs High School, as a staff, worked together to make changes to the Block Schedule. Several options were presented to the staff, and on March 11, a vote was conducted and counted by PSTA Site Representatives and the following Block Schedule was agreed upon:

1. School will begin each day at 7:30 a.m.
2. School will end at 2:30 p.m.
3. Lunch time will be 30 minutes in length.
4. There will be a total of 391 instructional minutes each day.
5. Teachers will be required to be on site 36 minutes beyond the regular instructional day rather than 60 minutes as dictated by Article 5.2.1 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
6. This MOU shall remain in full force and effect as long as the four by four block schedule applies to DHS or until the parties agree to modify or terminate this MOU.
